At Ark Housing, we believe that the best ideas for improving a neighbourhood come from the people who live there. That is why, in partnership with Woven and supported by the Department for Communities ‘Housing for All’ programme, we are handing the power over to you.
What is the Neighbourhood Funding Event?
This isn’t your typical grant application. It is a Participatory Budgeting event where the community takes the lead. Local groups are invited to apply with a project idea that promotes Good Relations within the South and West Belfast areas.
Instead of a board of directors making the decision, the shortlisted groups will "pitch" their ideas at a community event, and local people will vote on which projects should receive the funding.
Who Can Apply?
We want to keep this as inclusive as possible. Whether you are a long-standing charity or a small group of neighbours with a great idea, we want to hear from you.
Location: Your group must be based in the highlighted South or West Belfast areas (including Sandy Row, The Village, Windsor, and surrounding areas).
The Mission: Your project should focus on Good Relations—bringing people together and building a shared future.
Accessibility: You do not need to be a formally constituted group to apply. We are looking for passion and community impact above all else!
How It Works: The 4-Step Journey
Apply: Submit your project idea before the deadline.
Pitch: Join us at the event to share your vision with your neighbours.
Vote: The local community casts their ballots for the projects they love.
Win: The winning projects receive £1,000 to bring their ideas to life!
