The Scheme Supervisor at each of the Association’s sheltered schemes is responsible for tenants and the building on a day to day basis. He/She is responsible to the Housing Officer and is also responsible for domestic assistants and relief staff.
The Scheme Supervisor will provide a secure and caring environment for all the residents. He/She will contact each resident daily by intercom and will visit frail or ill residents. Where possible other tenants shall also be visited on a rota basis by the scheme supervisor.
He/She will maintain a register of tenants including emergency contacts and will answer emergency calls as and when received, contact doctors, relatives, ambulance and clergymen. She will also liaise with social workers, district nurses, etc, as appropriate to the welfare of the residents.
Social events including coffee mornings, luncheon clubs, entertainment and outings, etc will also be organised by the Scheme Supervisor.
Where there are maintenance defects, the Scheme Supervisor will report them to the Housing Officer and inspect repairs on completion. She will also supervise the cleaning of the building.
Scheme Supervisors are on-site Monday to Friday (office hours). The Scheme Supervisor will also be available to deal with any emergency calls out-side of these hours. Residents should note that the Scheme Supervisor is only to be contacted after hours in the event of an emergency.
Finally, the Scheme Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the security of the building and for ensuring the residents call system to Fold Helpline is switched over after hours. However, residents will also be responsible for ensuring the security of the building and should never allow access to anyone they do not know.
