The Association is controlled by a Voluntary Management Committee which is elected annually by the Association members. The Committee is made up of people, giving , in their free time, the spectrum of expertise required to direct and sustain the work of the Association. The Committee is accountable to the Department for Social Development.

The Committee is responsible for the policy and direction of the Association while the staff are employed to carry out this policy and are accountable to the Board through the Director for the day to day running of the Association.
